Welton Village is extremely well equipped with a village Pub, Coop Supermarket, Fish and Chip Shop, Indian Takeaway and even an 18 hole Golf Course to mention but a few. Several neighbouring villages are a short drive away and offer similar facilities. A regular Bus service operates between the village, surrounding villages and city should public transport be your preferred means of get about.
Welton
Welton is a friendly well serviced village located approx. 4 miles north of Lincoln off the A15 and/or A46 and surrounded by beautiful unspoilt rural countryside that can be explored on foot by the numerous public walkways and common grounds.
Lincoln
Being only 5 miles/12 minutes from Lincoln City Centre, the village of Welton is ideally suited to stay when visiting family at the University of Lincoln or attending one of the numerous events held at the nearby Lincolnshire Showground. Lincoln is a lively city with lots to see and do all year round, check the Visit Lincoln website for up to date information on events held in the county throughout the year.
Pubs
The Black Bull is located in the centre of the village, serving a delicious lunch and dinner menu.
Walks
There are many public footpaths through and around the village of Welton, including 3 mapped circular walks of 3, 4 & 6 1/2 miles. Other useful places to find walk are lincstrust.org.uk , ramblers.org.uk and walkinginlincs.co.uk.
Tearooms
In the centre of the village there is the lovely Stokes cafe serving afternoon tea, lunch, coffee and cake. A little further out on the edge of the village is Seven District Coffee.
Activities
On the outskirts of the village you’ll find the Welton Manor Golf Centre with a beautiful 18 hole course. Also located at the Golf Course there is a large fishing lake available to fish on a day ticket. Or why not go on a walk to see the nearby stunning Hackthorn Hall estate and grounds.
